Daily schedule for self care
For any reader to be here, reading this, it means that she/he has heard or researched enough about his well being, with so many information, advices, on the net, do this, do that its always a challenge to find your own personal daily routine that will win you some health and well being. Here are some tips for changing YOUR routine, YOUR life-style, finding YOUR well being! Well being is an inner job.
Writing down the present moment (consciousness):
My job the past 17 years has been to create powerful programs for people that can be used in the daily. My understanding is that the programs must change every 3-6 months and fit in the needs of everyone, needs change, situations change and we need to be adopting to all the new changes. If nothing external change try to keep it for a full year and watch what happens to your health.
Most people do not even know where they stand, what they want, what is wrong and how to move on for their well being. Having this as a starting point, the first step is always a reality check. Finding out where you are right now, in your life, what your needs are, what the situations that you are in right now, allows you to do, how deep, how quick, how much you want to dive in.
Start by writing down everything, where you live, with whom, how much do you make per month, how many time you would like to spend on yourself, how healthy you eat, what kind of water you drink, are you exercising? are you happy with your job? are you happy with your life? and what is missing from your life? what would you like to do in the year that is coming, everything that you can think. Write it in a clean note book and keep this note book till the end of the process. Knowing your present moment, accepting what is consciously, is another key for your well being.
Flow of movement (meditation) in anything is one major key for well being:
Is good to find what you like to do in general but also specifically using your hands like cooking, ceramics, gardening, playing with toys, knitting, caressing, meditate, yoga, qigong, arts and crafts, playing or learning an instrument, exercising, paint, massage, dance, writing, cleaning the house, washing the car, whatever makes you use your hands is a plus to your well being. The reason is the mechanics behind it, when hands move in a continuous move, the body is utilizing its energy properly and when we move our hands and feet, in a continuous way, the kinetic machine that the body is, is functioning in its best. So we need those hands moving most of the day. It does not matter what you do, as long as you flow in the movement. Let that settle in a bit. Flow of movement in anything is one major key for well being. Mopping the floor can be as strong as a chi-kung exercise if it is performed in a meditative way. Try to make the figure of 8, or the infinity symbol while mopping your floor, you will find that this effort keeps you concentrated, it energizes the floor, while you are diving deep and then mopping becomes your working meditation. Please do try this at home, you will have a very juicy energy.
Action for self care:
Continuing writing your daily issues, start from the morning routines, till the time you go to bed. Write down how you wake up, how you take your breakfast, your lunch and dinners, how do you snack, how good is the water you drink? how many times do you go to the toilet. How well you sleep, why? what are your favorite foods, are you moving during the day? Do you have any health issues that your ancestors had? Find out who your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were. Create your family tree, taking action, asking your family members to tell you about your ancestors relationships. Find out secrets and situations you never knew, we tend to repeat the history of our DNA, this taking action exercise will help you tremendously in realizing yourself!
When you write everything down, take one by one the routines and try to make it as lighter as possible for you in this moment. For example: waking up later than 9.00am every day is not healthy. If you wake up at 10.00am, change this first step to waking up at 9.00am and watch the results.
Program:
First thing in the morning the best is to sit in the head of your bed and close your eyes for 10-20min as this is the best time for deepening your meditation.
Second best thing to do is drink good quality water, drink from 200ml to 600ml every day for one year, watch what happens to your health.
Try to get the best quality of water that you can find within your limits(ask me which one is the best in my email aponiraw@gmail.com or go to my page on Face Book Anna Korakaki).
If you eat heavy breakfast and you enjoy it - do not stop eating it but instead try having an apple or a fruit 15-20min before the full breakfast.
After breakfast take 10-20min to relax before rushing to work to allow the food to go down. If you drive have nice music that you LOVE playin and start the day in beauty.
After each meal wait before eating or drinking anything else for 2,5 hours. Then have a snack, dessert, fruits or drinks (if you want to work on line and travel, ask me how in my email aponiraw@gmail.com or my Face book page Anna Korakaki).
Try walking for 15-20min around 11.00am -12.00pm every noon.
Try reading something every day, even if it is for 20 min. (maybe lunch break?)
In the afternoon try using your hands consciously in creating things, making something, clean, touch or anything you feel like. After using your hands consciously try to have a nap, or rest even if it is for 20min, if you can not take this nap, try instead massage your feet by yourself (many tutorials of self feet massage in youtube!).
For all your meals follow an organic diet and try to do fasting or detox more than one time per year. Eat whatever makes you feel happy, in the rule we put above, that after every meal you wait 2,5 hours before eating or drinking anything else. If you have eaten enough meat in your life and want to stop it for at least a year or so, it is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. If you have been vegetarian and want to stop dairy, now is a good time to start! LOVE your food! If there is nothing god to eat one day, then it is a good day to fast.
When it is about 17.00 - 18.00 ask yourself if you have drunk more than 1 lit. of clean water this day and if not, try to drink at least 1,50 - 2,00 till the end of the day.
If you have not related to anyone this day in a meaningful way, is good to call someone or go for a walk with friends. Make it a daily habit that you speak to people in a meaningful way.
De-cluttering, if it is a Saturday or a Sunday and you have followed the program all the week, then you might be feeling like de-cluttering your environment. Make a give-away afternoon date or ex-changing date with friends and give anything you do not use the past year. From books, to clothes, to anything that you might be storing in your house! Clean up, make room for creativity!
Another weekend activity can be go to nature and walk barefoot for more grounding. This is something that you could do every day if you have the option, it heals so many things to walk barefoot and watch the sunrise and sunset!
If you are overburden with activities, try cut some and find more time for yourself and loved ones, you never know when you will have this opportunity again, life is not a given.
Another option is to leave some activities for others, for example, if you had enough of your salsa lessons, leave the dancing for a while and try to walk to your neighborhood or another one, and get the homeless food to eat. Make an appointment with friends in need or your parents and family.Try to be of service to others in your free time, or make free time in order to be in service to the others, this is found to be a great anti-depressant medicine. When you feel blocked or your energy is low, try doing something for others, it will lift your spirit to the skies and you will be filled with energy and love!
Try to have your last meal-snack of the day around sunset for better digestion and better sleep. Before bed sit or lay down for 5-10min to forget your worries and sleep peacefully. Sleep at least 8 hours every night, in order to wake up fully energized the next morning. If your body needs more hours to rest, give it an earlier time for bed!
